A Glamping Girl’s Guide to WyldStay at Serenity Lake Farm
If cozy vibes and Highland cows are your aesthetic (hi, it’s me), Wyldstay at Serenity Lake Farm should be so on your radar. It's nestled on a 30-acre farm just outside Greenville, SC—and yes, it’s basically what would happen if Anthropologie and Bass Pro Shops had a crossover episode.
Think: canvas tents, string lights, and background music moos (haha because cows, duh).
Here’s the lowdown on what to bring, what to wear, what to do besides taking those aesthetic Instagram pics.
🎒 What to Pack
You don’t need much, but here’s what I brought and what I wished I’d brought:
Layers for cool mornings & nights — think a cozy sweatshirt or cardigan
A mini speaker for tent-side vibes
Bug spray (we didn’t have many issues with bugs, but better to be safe than sorry)
Water - I don’t think there was anywhere to fill up water bottles (but don’t quote me on that!), so grab a plastic jug from the store
A book you say you’ll read, but we both know you won’t
A flashlight or headlamp for post-sunset bathroom runs
Extra ice if you’re bringing snacks (they supply you with a cooler!)
Grocery store snacks — there’s a Food Lion 10 minutes away
Heads up: There’s no fridge, stove, or microwave — you’re camping remember! There is a cooler with some ice, but don’t bring anything that needs to be frozen or kept perfectly cold unless you're prepared. This is not the time for your frozen Trader Joe’s haul.
👗 What to Wear
Okay yes, you’re in a tent. But let’s not get it twisted — the outfit still matters.
Linen pants, a fitted tank, and a slouchy flannel
Sundress + cowgirl boots = my personal fave
Oversized sweatshirt + biker shorts for a campfire vibe
PJ set for tent lounging
Swimsuit if you want to dip in the spring-fed pond
Sneakers or boots you don’t mind getting a little dusty
And yes, cowgirl boots are always appropriate here.
🛎️ What to Expect: Check-In to Chill
Check-in is self-guided and simple. You’ll get an email with everything you need, and parking is easy. From there, it’s a short walk to your tent!
You’re staying in a Bushtec safari-style tent, which makes you feel like you’re in a luxury outdoor catalog. It’s roomy, stylish, and wildly comfortable. The bed is quite literally the comfiest thing I’ve ever slept in — and no, I’m not being dramatic.
Each tent includes:
A plush queen bed with premium linens
A private deck perfect for golden hour coffee
Solar lights, a portable heater unit, and a power bank
A cooler with a little ice (again — bring extra!)
A French press for the morning caffeine ritual
There’s no grill, no fridge, no cooking area — so think “picnic girlie,” not “camp chef.” Bathrooms are shared, clean, and a short walk away.
🐮 Things to Do!!
This is a chill trip, so if you want to do nothing but lounge — you’re in the right place. But if you’re feeling social or adventurous, here’s what’s worth checking out:
Hang with the Highland cows – Book the farm experience and meet the fluffiest residents of South Carolina
Kayak or paddleboard on the pond – It’s peaceful, pretty, and very “main character moment”
Fishing – There is a rod provided, but you can bring your own gear too!
Swim or sun by the pond – Ideal for cooling off (or pretending you’re in a serene movie montage, no judgement here)
Dinner at Voodoo Brewing Co. – 15 minutes away with food, drinks, and major atmosphere
Stock up at the grocery store – 10 minutes away and very necessary if you're snack-driven like me
Downtown Greenville – Cute boutiques, great coffee, and a solid excuse to change out of your sweats
Final Thoughts
Wyldstay Greenville was the perfect 24-hour escape I didn’t know I needed. Even one night was great to recharge, reset, and fall in love with the idea of glamping all over again.
Would I go back? In a heartbeat.
Would I try to smuggle a cow home with me? Maybeeeee.
Bonus? This place works for literally anyone. You could do a cozy weekend here with kids, a girls trip, a romantic escape, or just a peaceful solo reset.
Catch me back here in cowgirl boots, with s’mores in hand!
